Charlotte ROTC Instructor Charged For Assaulting Two Students

A JROTC instructor at Independence High School in Charlotte, North Carolina has been arrested for sexually assaulting two students. Bradley Gibson, 52, faces six counts of indecent liberties with a student and three counts of indecent liberties with a minor.

Authorities were alerted to the allegations when a 15-year-old girl stepped forward to claim that she had been sexually assaulted by Gibson at the school earlier this year. Detectives say a second female student was assaulted in 2010, when she was 17 years old.

Gibson turned himself in on Wednesday, September 19, 2018, arriving at police headquarters under his own volition. He was interviewed and then arrested.

Deputies at the police department are still working to determine whether or not there are additional victims. Gibson was released into the community on a $630,000 bail.

Gibson has spent the past ten years as an Air Force JROTC instructor at Independence High, according to the Charlotte Observer. He is a veteran of Operations Enduring Freedom, Desert Shield and Desert Storm.
