Summary of Anthem

Anthem is a master-planned community in Maricopa County, Arizona. Also part of the Phoenix Metropolitan Area, it is located within the New River census-designated place (CDP) and Phoenix. The community was developed in 1999 by Del Webb 34 miles north of downtown Phoenix. Parenting magazine and Phoenix magazine have described it as one of the best places to raise a family and one of the best family-friendly neighborhoods within the Phoenix area, respectively. As of the 2010 U.S. Census, Anthem has a population of 21,700 people and a total area of 9.2 square miles.

Anthem Community Park

Known for its year-round family friendly activities, Anthem is home to several parks and recreation areas, including the Anthem Community Park. Situated on North Gavilan Peak Parkway, it is managed by the Anthem Community Council. The 63-acre park provides amenities such as:

• Adventure and Discovery Playgrounds with a Splash pad open seasonally from 10 a.m. to sunset

The pickleball courts, sports fields and ramadas are available for reservation. The community park is also home to the Anthem Community Center. It is open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Outlets at Anthem

The Outlets at Anthem is an outdoor open space shopping mall in Anthem. Located on West Anthem Way, just off of Interstate 17, the outlet features global fashion brands, specialty boutiques, a food court, a play area and a splash pad. Some of its occupants include Rack Room Shoes, The Children's Place, Levi's Outlet Store, GUESS Factory, Michael Kors Outlet, Coach Outlet, Under Armour Factory House, Ann Taylor Factory Store, Christopher & Banks Outlet, Vans, Claire's Sunglass Hut, Charleys Cheesesteaks, Fresca's Mexican Grill, Nike Factory Store, Gap Factory, Banana Republic Factory Store, Aéropostale, Columbia Factory Store, Calvin Klein, Bridal Couture and Eveningwear, Biba's Toys, Famous Wok, Rocky Mountain Cholocate Factory, and more. The outlet is open to shoppers from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Daisy Mountain Potential Preserve

The Daisy Mountian Potential Preserve is an undeveloped Arizona State Trust Land area just north of the community of Anthem. Encompassing 6 square miles, it is open to those who have a State Land Department Recreation Permit that could be applied for on the Arizona State Land Department website. Residents in the area enjoy spending time in the potential preserve doing recreation activities like horseback riding, hiking, bicycling, birding, photography and many more. Informal trails provide paths throughout the mountain, and the Maricopa County Regional Trail's Anthem Trailhead is nearby.
