Robles Faces Twelve Counts Of Sexual Assault

Robles faces a lengthy list of charges, including two counts of sexual assault by a public officer, two counts of sexual penetration by foreign object by means of threatening to use the authority of a public office, kidnap for oral sex, assault with intent to commit oral sex during the commission of a first-degree burglary, sexual battery by restraint, false imprisonment, attempted oral copulation under the color of authority, dissuading a witness, oral copulation under color of authority, and rape by threat of arrest.

Police say nine of Robles' twelve counts stem from an incident on January 9. The remaining three counts relate to a sexual assault allegedly committed between April and August.

Women Step Forward

Authorities claim that Robles raped two women and forced them to perform fellatio on him. The officer was caught after a deputy with the department noticed two people walking toward the city of Woodlake and offered them a ride. Along the way, one of the women spoke up, asking how she could make a complaint about officer conduct. Alleging "illegal and wrongful searches," along with sexual misconduct, the woman reportedly identified Robles by name. Further investigation discovered a second victim with similar allegations.

Detectives believe that other victims may have yet to step forward.

Officer Remains In Custody

Robles has been placed on paid administrative leave, according to Woodlake Police Chief Mike Marquez. He remains in custody on a $460,000 bail. Robles has worked for the police department since 2014. At least 20 pending cases at the department involve him.

Tulare County District Attorney Tim Ward is now busy reviewing these and past cases, including cases that resulted in a conviction, to "ensure their integrity."
