About Fullerton

Fullerton is a census-designated place (CDP) and an unincorporated area of Whitehall Township in Lehigh County, Pennsylvania. Situated in the Lehigh Valley region of the state, the suburb was originally referred to as Ferndale. It was situated on tracts of land settled by Giles Windsor in 1767, Stephen Snyder in 1786 and Jacob Yundt in 1826.

The town was later renamed Fullerton in 1895 in honor of local businessman James W. Fuller Jr. He had acquired the railroad car wheel factory from Frederick & Company in 1865 and turned it into the McKee, Fuller & Co. and later on the Lehigh Car, Wheel & Axel Works. Because of his achievement with the company, Fullerton became a thriving company town.

As of the 2010 census, Fullerton has a population of 14,925 people and a total area of 3.7 square miles. The CDP is bordered by the City of Allentown on the south and the Lehigh River on the east.
