About Golden Valley

Golden Valley is a census-designated place (CDP)  within Mohave County, Arizona. It was named after the Golden Valley Development Company of Hollywood, California, that partnered with Crystal Collins to develop most of the land located south of Highway 68 for sale. Situated in the Sacramento Valley, the community is connected to Kingman and Bullhead City by the Arizona State Route 68. Because of its proximity to the two cities, residents who live closer to those two areas tend to shop there. Some Golden Valley residents also commute to Kingman, Bullhead City, Laughlin, Nevada, and Las Vegas for work. As of the 2000 census, the CDP has a population of 4,515 people and a total area of 280 square miles.

Badger Trail

Badger Trail is a part of the Cerbat Foothills Recreational Area Trail System. The 3.2-mile-long trail is considered moderately strenuous to bike and hike because of its consistent 8 percent grade. It goes through scenic Mohave Desert interesting granite rock outcroppings and vegetation and ascends into the southern end of the Cerbat Mountains. Throughout the trail, visitors can stop and admire the spectacular views it offers of the surrounding valleys and mountains. The Badger Trail trailhead is located one-quarter mile north of U.S. Route 93 from the AZ-68 intersection in Golden Valley.
