Pinetop-Lakeside is a town situated in Navajo County, Arizona. It was established in 1984 through the merge of the towns of Pinetop and Lakeside. It lies in between the communities of Show Low and McNary and is within proximity to Pinedale, Silver Creek and Vernon. Lakeside Ranger District is a tourist attraction of the town of Pinetop-Lakeside. It encompasses 267,120 acres of land in the center of the Sitgreaves and Apache National Forest. The district includes recreational sites with developed and undeveloped areas. A major attraction of Lakeside Ranger District is its rivers, streams, lakes and reservoirs. It is open on Mondays through Fridays from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Lake of the Woods Resort is a 25-acre rustic cabin resort in Pinetop-Lakeside. Situated in the White Mountains, guests can choose from 26 cabins and 7 condo-style units. The resort is also home to a private lake that is always stocked with rainbow trout. Also found in the lake are catfish, largemouth bass and bluegills. Visitors can spend time fishing or go boating. Unfortunately, swimming is prohibited in the lake.
The resort also features two jacuzzis, a dry sauna, two recreation rooms with two ping pong tables and a pool table, shuffleboard courts, a horseshoe pit, and a playground. Rates for the resort range from $99 to $509, depending on how many nights you are planning to stay.
