Rose's license to practice speech pathology was suspended by an Emergency Adjudicative Order on September 6, 2018. He was arrested on June 12, 2018 and charged for assault with intent to commit sexual abuse and lascivious conduct with a minor. He has submitted a plea of not guilty, but no trial date has yet been set. A disciplinary hearing in his license suspension was set for October. The board has ruled that Rose poses a danger to patients if he were to continue working as a speech pathologist.
Court documents submitted by prosecutors allege that on May 31, 2018, an 11-year-old girl went to LifeScape Ablekids for her weekly speech therapy appointment. Her regular therapist was unavailable, so another therapist, Jacob Rose, stepped in to cover the appointment. As the girl later told investigators, during the course of the appointment, Rose allegedly exposed himself to the girl and asked her to perform various sex acts on him. He was arrested soon after by police.
