Houston, Texas police are searching for Juan Jose Cruz, 51, a youth sports coach on the city’s northside who has been accused of sexually assaulting at least two young girls. Police say Cruz assaulted and illegally recorded two of his team’s members, Chron reports.
Court records show that Cruz was initially arrested on a second-degree felony charge of indecency with a child in July. The charge was subsequently upgraded to a first-degree felony aggravated sexual assault of a child and felony invasive visual recording. He has also been charged for continuous sexual assault of a child, police officials say.

Houston Crime Stoppers says the man is accused of assaulting several team members between the ages of 9 and 11. He was released on bond, but apparently missed a routine pretrial court date on October 31, 2018, after which a judge ordered him to be re-arrested without bond.
Houston police have been unable to find Cruz. Officials say he could be in the Pasadena area. He is described as a Hispanic male, about six feet tall and 275 pounds, with brown eyes and short graying brown hair. Police note that he sometimes goes by the name John Cruz.
Houston Crime Stoppers is offering a $5,000 reward for information that leads to Cruz’s arrest. Anyone with details on his whereabouts has been urged to call 713-222-TIPS or submit a confidential tip through the organization’s website, www.crime-stoppers.org.
