Kennywood Park is among one of the oldest amusement parks in America. Located on Kennywood Boulevard in West Mifflin, it was a trolley park attraction opened on May 30, 1899, at the end of the Monongahela Street Railway owned by the Mellon family. In 1906, it was acquired by F. W. Henninger and Andrew McSwigan, who proceeded to established the family-owned Kennywood Entertainment Company. In 2007, the amusement park, along with four others, was sold to international entertainment operator Parques Reunidos. Today, it is among one of the only thirteen trolley parks still in operation in the U.S. It is also one of two amusement parks that have been designated as a National Historic Landmark.

The park also features two upcharge attractions for visitors to enjoy. The Skycoaster was the tallest version of the ride in the world when it was first opened. Allowing its one to three passengers to free fall 75 miles per hour above the park's lagoon, it is a 180 feet tall giant swing. The other attraction is the Paddle Boats. It is the park's only human-powered attraction. Riders have the opportunity to paddle through the park's lagoon in any direction they choose. The amusement park is open Saturdays from 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Sundays from 10:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Allegheny County Airport is the fifth-busiest airport in Pennsylvania. Situated in West Mifflin, it is the primary FAA-designated reliever airport for Pittsburg International Airport and is owned by the Allegheny County Airport Authority. At its completion, the airport was the third-largest and only hard-surfaced airport in the U.S. It was dedicated on September 11, 1931.
