About Westfield

Westfield is a city in the Indianapolis Metropolitan Area. Part of Hamilton County, Indiana, it was founded by North Carolina Quakers Simon Moon, Ambrose Osborne and Asa Bales on May 6, 1834. The town was said to be planned as a stop on the Underground Railroad with the Wesleyan Methodist Church and many families of the Religious Society of Friends in support of the cause. In 1849, Westfield was incorporated as a town.

On January 1, 2008, the City of Westfield was incorporated with Andy Cook as its first mayor. As of 2019, the population of the city is estimated at 43,649 people. It has a total area of 27.081 square miles. Westfield is bordered by Noblesville to the east, Carmel to the south, and Zionsville to the west.

Union Bible College and Academy

Union Bible College and Academy is a high school college and seminary in Westfield. The private Quaker educational institution was founded by the Central Yearly Meeting of Friends in 1911. It is part of the wider conservative holiness movement and has been accredited by the Association for Biblical Higher Education. On March 3, 1995, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP).

Grand Park Sports Campus

Grand Park Sports Campus is a 400-acre sports complex in Westfield. Situated on Grand Park Boulevard, it is the perfect recreational space for residents and visitors to the city. The complex feature:

  • 31 multipurpose fields
  • 26 baseball and softball diamonds
  • Over 10 miles of pedestrian and bicycle trails
  • Three indoor facilities

The indoor facilities include three full-size multipurpose fields and eight courts – two are NBA-regulated.

Opened in 2016, it is the largest youth sports campus in the U.S. Major events that have been hosted at the park are the USA Archery Finials, Little League Softball and Baseball Region Tournaments, US Club Soccer NPL Finals and Nationals, Big Ten Women's and Men's Soccer Tournaments, Whale of a Sale Consignment Event, Suburban Indy Consumer Shows, and more. In 2017, the NFL's Indianapolis Colts signed a 10-year contract making Grand Park their annual training camp.

Clay Terrace

Besides the many parks that are offered in Westfield, there is also a number of shopping areas in the city that provide retail therapy for residents and visitors. One of the larger ones is Clay Terrace. It is located on West 146th Street and Clay Terrace Boulevard, just off North Meridian Street ( U.S. Route 31).
