The Whitley County Courthouse is a courthouse in the Columbia City Historic District. However, it is not a contributing building of the district and was individually added to the NRHP on February 16, 1979. The three-story, cruciform plan historic courthouse was built in 1888. It was designed by Brentwood S. Tolan of the French Renaissance style and has a galvanized iron central dome and slate roof.
Thomas R. Marshall House is a historic home in Columbia City. Built in 1874, the two-story, "L"-plan frame building features a projecting two-story bay and a nearly full-width front porch with paired Doric order columns. It serves as the home for Thomas R. Marshall, an Indiana Governor and U.S. Vice President. On July 21, 1983, it was added to the NRHP.
The historic home is now the Whitley County Historical Museum. It tells the life of Thomas Marshall and the great history of the county and its people.
