Near Southeast is a neighborhood of Indianapolis, Indiana. Hudnut Commons is a green space in Near Southeast on the corner of Capitol Avenue and Maryland Street. Dedicated in January 2013 by Indianapolis Mayor Greg Ballard, it is in honor of William H. Hudnut III – a four-term mayor for Indianapolis. The Commons serves as a quiet and peaceful place for personal enjoyment and reflection. It features tables and chairs, benches, shade a water feature, bikeshare service, and a larger stature of Hudnut. The Commons is connected by the Indianapolis Cultural Trail and sits just outside of the Indiana Convention Center.
The Indiana Convention Center & Lucas Oil Stadium is a major convention center in Indianapolis. Located in Near Southeast, the original structure of the center was constructed between 1969 and 1972 and has been expanded five times. Today, it includes 71 meeting rooms, three multipurpose ballrooms, and 11 exhibit halls. The Lucas Stadium that is connected to the convention center provides an additional 183,00-square-feet of exhibit space and 12 meeting rooms.

Circle Centre Mall is a national establishment of Indianapolis. Situated on West Maryland Street, it is part of the Near Southeast neighborhood. The indoor shopping mall was opened on September 8, 1995, and features 99 stores and services, including three anchors. Although one anchor is currently vacant after Carson Pirie Scott left, the other two are the offices of The Indianapolis Star and Regal Cinemas.
The mall offers nationally known chain retailers, specialty stores, a food court and more.
