An Account of Guadalupe

Guadalupe is a town within Maricopa County, Arizona. Its roots of Yaquis, Mexicans and descendants of the original farmers are recognized with the town motto of "Where Three Cultures Flourish." The area is a center of Yaqui culture and is home to many religious festivals. It was founded by the Yaqui Indians who fled their homeland in Sonora, Mexico, around 1900. Guadalupe is within proximity to the communities of Ahwatukee, South Tempe, Kiwanis Park, Tempe Royal Estates, Pepperwood, Baseline-Hardy, South Mountain Village, and Tempe. The main roads serving the town are Maricopa Freeway (Interstate 10), Superstition Freeway (U.S. Route 60), West Baseline Road, South Avenida del Yaqui, and Calle Guadalupe.

Frank Elementary School

Frank Elementary School is the only school in Guadalupe. Part of the Tempe Elementary School District, it is located on Avenida Del Yaqui. The public elementary school offers classes from grades pre-Kindergarten through 5th. It has a total population of 524 students and a student-to-teacher ratio of 16 to 1. State test scores indicate that 33% of the students in the school are at least proficient in reading and math. Frank Elementary has a Niche overall grade of a B minus and a GreatSchools rating of 4 out of 10.

Biehn Colony Park

Biehn Colony Park is a neighborhood park on East Calle Iglesia. Offering a nice recreational space for residents of Guadalupe and the surrounding areas, it features amenities like a baseball field, basketball court, playground, open space, picnic tables and park benches. The park offers little to no shade, so locals love coming here in the mornings or afternoons and during the colder months to have a picnic or spend time with friends and family.
