Ohio State is facing a new wave of sexual abuse allegations.
Abuse Scandal Hits Olympic-Affiliated Ohio State Programs
In a new lawsuit, one student-athlete accuses the University's Olympic-affiliated sports programs of turning a blind eye to allegations of sexual abuse and exploitation. The plaintiff, a young female diver who worked with the USA Diving-affiliated Ohio State Diving Club says she was sexually exploited for years by a coach at Ohio State, William Bohonyi.
But she says Ohio State mishandled the investigation into her abuse, failing to report a trove of child pornography images discovered in Bohonyi's possession. Her allegations aren't limited to Ohio State. In fact, she says the USOC and its national governing bodies, like USA Diving or USA Swimming, routinely ignore or deflect sexual abuse reports to maintain their prestigious position in the international sporting community.
