Plum is a suburb of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Part of Allegheny County, the borough was established on December 18, 1788, as Plum Township – one of the seven townships in the county of Allegheny. Named after the nearby Plum Creek, it was incorporated as a borough in 1956. Plum has a population of 27,135 people and a total area of 29.0 square miles, as of the 2018 census. Although the area is significantly smaller than when it was first founded, the borough is still the second largest in the state. It is surrounded by the communities of:

Boyce Park is a 1,096-acre park located in Plum and a part of Monroeville. Managed by Allegheny County Parks, it is open every day from 8 a.m. to sunset. The park is home to the only downhill skiing and snow tubing hills in the county. It also features recreational amenities like a wave pool, skate park, ballfields, archery range, park shelters, trails and a nature center.
Just north of the Plum Borough is the Allegheny Islands State Park. Situated on the Allegheny River, the 50-acre park is only accessible by boat. It consists of two alluvial islands and seven shoals on the river and is heavily covered with vegetation. The undeveloped park is owned and managed by the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation & Natural Resources and is open year-round from sunrise to sunset. It is home to a number of plants and animals and offers a quality place for visitors to explore, fish and hunt.
Oakmont Country Club is a private club in Plum, with a small portion of it in Oakmont. Established in 1903, its golf course is the "oldest top-ranked golf course in the U.S." It was designed by architects Henry C. Fownes – his only design – and Edward Stotz of the Tudor Revival architectural style. Ranked as one of the five best golf courses in America by Golf Digest, the country club is known to have one of the toughest courses. It has hosted the U.S. Open more than any other course, with its 10th tenth scheduled in 2025. On August 17, 1984, the Oakmont Country Club was added to the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP). It was designated as a National Historic Landmark (NHL) on June 30, 1987. In 1985, it was also designated on the Pittsburgh History & Landmarks Foundation (PHLF).
