Show Low is a city on the Mogollon Rim in east-central Arizona. Part of Navajo County, legend has it the city got its name from a marathon poker game between Marion Clark and Corydon E. Cooley. In order to determine who gets sole ownership of their shared ranch, the partners agreed to settle it in a game of "Seven Up." The winners will take the ranch, and the loser will leave. With the game drawing to an end and no winners were evident, Clark said to Cooley, "If you show low, you win." Thus, Cooley turned over his two of clubs and replied, "Show low it is."
