The Town of Quartzsite

Quartzsite is a town within La Paz County, Arizona. Between 1863 to the 1880s, it was a waterhole site and later a stage station called Tyson's Wells in the then Yuma County of the new Arizona Territory. Today, the town has a population of 3,677 people and a total area of 36.3 square miles, as of the 2010 census. The main roads serving the area are U.S. Route 95 (Main Street), Arizona State Route 95 (Central Boulevard), and Interstate 10. Quartzsite's economy is mainly contributed by tourism. The town is a popular recreational vehicle camping site for winter visitors.

Joanne Gum Museum

One of the most unusual and unique attractions of Quartzsite is the Joanne Gum Museum. Local resident Joanne Brunet and her sister, Carolyn Bee, has been collecting gum since the 1940s. When the 600-square-foot museum was constructed by Sonny Brunet, Joanne's husband, the 200 gum collection was displayed. The oldest piece of gum in the museum dates back to 1914. The collection includes:

Arizona Peace Trail

Arizona Peace Trail is the ultimate offroading adventure in the state of Arizona. Running through Quartzsite, it is the largest OHV Loop Trail in the U.S. and stretches over 675 miles. The trail connects Bullhead City to Yuma. Riders will have the opportunity to view the rolling desert and see thousands of Saguaro Cactus, Cholla Cactus, sand washes, diverse rock landscapes, canyons and mountain passes. Wildlife like raptors, coyotes, Big Horn Sheep, burrows and more can also be spotted. Visitors can enjoy the trail with a day trip, local side trips or an extended tour. There are 34 trail segments, connector trails, alternative routes, points of interest, and more on the Peace Trail. It is advised that riders utilize the AZPT Atlas to plan the trip before going.
